Could you please explain why you feel this way? What about the review feels "imdb"?I have to say that Empire review is written in a totally unprofessionally way... almost like an imdb review...
Reading the review I can only conclude: because it was critical of a movie I like even without having seen it.Could you please explain why you feel this way? What about the review feels "imdb"?

Not surprising that this movie is mixed so far.
I just read the movie is 160min. Holy crap.
That can't be right, can it?
Ok this makes sense. The time on the Rotten Tomatoes page is 2hr 38mins. That is clearly wrong.1 hour 48 minutes exactly. At least that's what's in my press notes.
He must be thinking that Armond White wrote it or something.
Financially it'll do fine. They're marketing the hell out of it. All it needs is two solid weekends and it'll eventually break even.
My dad definitely wants to see it on name alone. I'm sure everyone that grew up in the 80s is going out of curiosity alone.
And I did hear some kid say that he bets he says his catchphrase to his wife every night.
t:I've read a couple reviews from the Hollywood reporter and variety. They seem fairly positive but they compare it to the original every step of the way.
4 stars from TF and DoG and 2 stars from Empire? I usually agree with TF and Empire reviews. Don't think I've ever seen them this far apart.
AMEN. It didn't look promising since trailer 1.I know some folks were rooting for the film, but I've heard stuff about the film. The struggles between the studio and the director, and the endless reshoots, so I just knew it would've been (at best) maybe a serviceable movie unless the hand of GOD saves the day. I also heard from a few buddies from the VFX world that it was a bit of a mess. Let's say no buddy knew what they wanted. MEH.
Even from the trailers, I was thinking 'Wow this is..generic." To be fair I personally haven't seen the film, but I just don't get the vibe it'll be remembered by April of this year.
