Yes, as seems to be the norm now, Nikki just increased from 60M to 67-70M. I wouldn't doubt if it goes up again. This thing is incredible.

Not only is 200M in play, but I think Avengers has an even better shot now of being no. 1 for 3 consecutive weeks.
I've always been superoptimistic on Avengers but I'd never have called $200m! It's crazy :word: but deserved. What a future for Marvel!

$200 million dollar opening weekend? I had a good feeling, but the fact that number is POSSIBLE is just...wow. Never thought I would get a great Avengers film like this when I read the book years ago, and it makes me happy to see it shatter the box office.

I feel like it's gotta be at the very least $185m now.

I really hope 200 mil will come true!

Just got back from my 2nd viewing in much more glorious 2D, and I see the numbers for maybe $185-$200 are holding strong. I never, ever thought Avengers could make it this high, as much as I wanted to. But... my God!

This movie deserves it. All the love and the money.

Saturday is going to be at least 70M. That gives it 150M in two days.

It's hitting 200M this weekend

I dunno. I'm expecting somewhat of a drop on Sunday. $200 million in one weekend would be sick though, just not sure it can scratch it.

But if it already is at the 150 mil mark at least for Friday and Saturday, then the Sunday drops would have to be large to miss 200. Assuming these figures are right, I think it will pass it.

Spider-Fan, keep in mind these are still estimates. Sometimes estimates have been off before, not by a lot but by certain amounts.

FYI in 2002, when Attack of The Clones came out, the initial estimates for the movie's opening weekend were off and it made it look like the movie had a bigger opening weekend than Spider-Man which it didn't.

True, but rarely are they off by really large numbers. usually within like 2 mil +/-, so I don't expect it to be an estimate of 80 becomes a 65. Not common, at least for movies I follow.

Yeah, 80, 70, 50 would be enough, incorporating a Sunday drop.

Seen it for the 4th time last night (UK). Same cinema I saw it in on opening day. A lot less people there now (to be expected), but still a decent amount considering its a big expensive cinema thats hard to get to with an independent cinema with comfy sofas thats half the price not far down the road.

Ive also seen a lot of friends checking in on FourSquare at cinemas seeing Avengers that only a week ago were saying to me that "it wasnt their type of movie". WOM is doing this movie wonders OS.

anybody have the current total box office take (worldwide)? last count was what... $281M? with the May 4th release we should be somewhere in the $400M+ range now right?

Should be around $500+ worldwide by monday

Should be over 500M after today (Saturday). Should be over 600M by Monday.

Not just box-office success already and not just much praise from casuals to hardcore fanboys..But it's also critically acclaim world wide with"top critics"!!

It's all just so beautiful&well deserved,Marvel&Disney deserves to be proud!!

Will never forget these days, as these days will never be forgotten.

So surreal, amazing, unbelievable.

Word of mouth is doing wonders too. I've never seen so many close people talking about it and recommending it.

Saturday showings should be stronger. I wouldn't be surprised if this made more than the $80 mil today. Hell this film could go up to $220+ for the weekend if you ask me.

Hell, the insider who gave the correct Friday estimate (and has a reputable record with these things) actually underestimated the final tally a bit. And if the Saturday reports are to be believed, the spillover onto Sunday is going to be BIG.

THIS. My older cousin is raving this movie like crazy, and she never showed any signs of enjoying this kind of movies. My youngest cousin and my goddaughter is a newly turned Marvel fangirl after watching the movie with me last night.

Epic. I've never seen a WOM quite like this, and I am old enough to remember how it was Titanic's WOM.

The latest showings are either selling out or close to it. This movie is going to rake it in tomorrow as well. Its a must see movie at this point. Kids, teens, girls, women, adult men, old folks all are seeing it.
