Wow i honestly didn't expect Avengers to earn 600 million domestic or even past that. i honestly thought that it would have stopped around 585-590 this is really incredible!

Can you imagine with how well it has been taken world wide how it will be viewed in Japan?

$600 million... Good lord. I was one of the people who voted for $800 million total, but dang am I glad I was wrong. I had a feeling this movie would be a hit but little did I know that this would turn out to be the most successful superhero movie (so far, that is).

Is it possible for japan to bring it to 1.5 billion?

$610M is a given.

Projectionists are now saying if it can reach $620M.

I wouldn't mind having it at $616M... get it? That would be poetic!

Forecasting around $616 million (likely higher) after the last July weekend (July 29th) which will be it's 13th week.

disney should up the hype and keep promoting that its a big blockbuster, to entice those who havent watched it yet (or are not into this kind of movies) to go and see what the fuss is all about....:hrt:

The gap between Avengers and Titanic is down to $60,246,860. That means, if it can hold on to $10,000,000/week, Titanic will be sunk in just about 6 weeks! If Avengers get a re-release later in the year, it's not the #2 spot easy!

Disney should wait a few years to re release it maybe like right before Avengers 2 if they re release it right now i'd only see it make around another 10-15 million

Agreed. Isn't that what happened with The Dark Knight in 2009?

If Disney re-released The Avengers with the 30+ minutes Whedon cut added back in it would probably make a whole lot more than $15 million. It's making over $10 million a week right now. They could also add the shawarma scene for people outside North America who didn't get to see it. That alone is worth a few million. :cwink:

yeah its too early for a rerelease. Best time is probably at the end of the summer...August or Sept. The road to 650 million will be tough but not impossible.

It will hit 1.5 billion without Japan. It's run 52 days in the US. Avatar and TDK ran north of 230+ days, so TA will be running for another 6 months. It's currently making double per day what TDK did at the same point and with only 20% drops week after week, vs TDKs 40% drops, it should easily hit 625M domestic and another $25M internally without Japan.

That's the best scene in the whole movie!!

It would need allot of advertising, but I'm sure Disney can scrape some money together.

They'll pull Avengers in September in order to prevent the cannibalization of DVD sales, which will likely be far higher than anything else it has in the tank at the Box office.

Right now, my projections point to this ending up at 634M, but that's prob too high... 625M more likely. But even that is mind blowing!

The Avengers' first run is locked to beat Titanic's entire first run of 600.8M probably tomorrow or the day after and that is INSANE! Basically not only does it rank #3 on the all-time Top Grossing list, but it will soon rank as #2 on the all-time First Run Grosses, topped only by Avatar's first run. :)

Do you have proof of this. This is not typical. It didn't happen with Avatar or TDK either.

Yea, but then there's the old inflation thing again. When I saw Titanic.....actuallly when I was dragged to it by my girlfriend now wife over a dozen times, we frequently ran into sold out showings 4 months into and full theaters 6 months into. Tickets were only $7.50 for an evening show...essentially half of what they are today.
