I get the comedic thing but not a fan of goofy looking Batman. I always saw him more as a deadpan humour kind of guy which barely reacts or shows emotion. Hence the dynamic between him and Superman. Here they give off a buddy vibe.

But he totally becomes buddies with Superman in the comics, so :whatever:

I think you're purposely missing the point he's making here.

I didn't care for Batman's response either. Or maybe more of the way it was delivered. It didn't have Batman's confidence. More Batman was shown in he's interaction with Clark. No he wasn't in battle but that is where he really has that awesome composed poker face and arrogant confidence, if you will.

I think we see why they didn't go with white lenses.

This is going to be a very human, likely more accessible, Batman.

Exactly. Good call on the Clark/Bruce scene, you're absolutely right. It gives off the dynamic much better than the later scene. I have no doubt Batman will own in this and they will both have cool scenes together but I'd rather see it being less wrestlers tag-team and more good cop bad cop dynamic.

^ True.

It's funny, but I was more excited with the scenes of the characters out of costume than in it. I don't know what that says about the movie :/

I'm still going to go see it opening day. This trailer though, it really out my expectations back to something realistic. Time will tell if this is just another DC movie or if it's a game changer.

Looks great in the Batwing.

I want screen grabs.

I extracted the frames from the GIF Killer posted. Here you go. Is that Batman.. or is that Batman?

My take on what we have seen so far Affleck plays Batman as Bruce Wayne (normal badass wayne, not playboy) in Batsuit than being a different persona in batsuit like Bale/Nolan's.

He doesn't seem so theatrical the way he talks, moves, mimics etc. compared to TDK saga.

That picture actually illustrates what I really don't like about Batfleck...his face just looks way, way too puffy. I don't know if it's the cowl (it's certainly not helping) or if Affleck would look that way in any cowl, but I'm just not feeling it. At all. For all the problems with the TDK suit, the cowl was still beautiful. Bale just looked so much sharper.

Not to harp on "teh puffy" but Affleck the past few years has had some puffiness to his face. Bale especially has a very angular pretty cut face.

I think if Ben still looked more like he did when he filmed The Town the whole thing would come together a little better.

Wow!

If I didn't know better I would have thought that was a cutscene from one of the "Arkham" games

That's a compliment

If this starts Teh Puffy up again, I'm literally gonna murder all of you. :o

As it is, I'm already tempted, but...

I have to disagree, Hafizbat. Sure, in some of the magazine covers, his face looked a bit puffy -- but I definitely don't see it here.

As for that pic of Bale you just posted, I feel he looks a bit gaunt or emaciated there. The expression on his face isn't doing him any favors either. It's like he's trapped in a perpetual state of puffing smoke, even though he isn't actually smoking.

I'm pretty sure it already started it again, you'd better sharpen your knives, or whatever it is you use.

Agreed. Facially, BatFleck does look a lot like the Batman from the first two Arkham games.

I think Afflecks got the best physique /body type so far of any batman. Why, because he's tall so his head is proportionate to his body. So the cowl works really well. I think they intentionally fattened it to bulk him even more.

Bale and Keaton look like Bobble heads cuz they're short guys with small frames.

Bale just has a sharp angular face and they played it up with his cowl.

Affleck is more round and they played that up.

There's no right/wrong or more correct way. Every cowl has played up the shape of the actors head and face.

Design wise they may not have had a choice. In exchange for the puffy you get a flexible cowl the actor and turn is head all over in.

The Batman costume is an unforgivable *****. Nolan's designers tackled it by breaking it up into parts. Snyder's designers tackled it by going with softer materials and ditching a glossy finish.

What's ironic is "teh puffy" is actually a term that originated with Bale's Batman. Longtime Hype members can back me up on this one.

I agree. Too bad about the robot voice, though.
