He didn't but I remember when we first got the images of the new suit there were a few people arguing it really was the "clothes suit" they've been wanting. Meaning it was literally Batman with some thin fabric like what Superman is wearing.

I'm pretty sure no one was against him wearing some lightweight protective armor underneath the costume; we were just relieved to see that the outer material is more fabric-based.

Yeah, I think Jim Lee was among the first artists to bring the idea to fruition. Here's one of his old "under armor" sketches going back to 2002-2003.

Nice.

I always figured it was supposed to be armor and tech under there.

Even til like last week people thought his cowl might actually fold backwards like it does in the comics but it's obvious from the image of what's supposed to be under the cowl it's not fold-able material.
Actually, the majority of users here were pretty sure that he has some kind of armored plates under the cloth suit which is quite obvious in the shoulder area and the pecs. Also we saw that at least the chest area is protected against fire guns.

Are you sure that's what that is? Looks more like to me Bats and Cyborg got liquored up, did the wild monkey dance and had an abomination of an offspring. Cybat.. Or BatBorg?.. *Shudders*

Is this description supposed to be for the Armored Batsuit or the regular one?

Because we've seen Supes pull the regular cowl off Batman's head and you clearly see there's nothing there as it was still flopping around in his hand.

The part where that happens is taking place in a post Apokaliptic (:cwink:) world where there is no need for a tech cowl cuz I suspect Batman ain't got no tech.

I remember seeing this in Wizard for the first time back then, and thinking, why had no one thought of this before.

Pretty much the idea of the whole suit is the Nolan take with the tech and armor but under a more material looking design over it.

The helmet description seems quite close to the Nolan model right down to the drop down lenses.

oH PLEEZ.....No it's not.......... There's zero Nolan in this new suit......

Are you guys crazy? Batman wearing armour under his suit is a very old idea and brought up many times in the comics.

Back in the 90's he even had a taser system in the suit. If someone touched it (while Bats was out) it would give that person a shock.

In TDKR he wears it under his costume.

After Bane broke his back he's got a built in reinforced spine protection.

etc

That's what we're saying, man! lol

Are you referring to this? That's a Jim Lee illustration from Batman #609, published in January 2003 -- not the 90s. The Wizard image Young Superman and I were referring to [posted above] was also drawn by Lee and came out several months prior to Batman: Hush.

The idea of hidden armor has been around since the late 80's and early 90's, along with retractable night vision lenses. DC used to publish schematics back then.

And he was shown wearing bulletproof vests under his suit as far back as the early 40's.

Guys!! We're getting this:

I'm losing my **** just thinking about how awesome the lenses will look! :woot:

I'm 100% fine with "detective mode" lenses. I was only against him having the lenses at all times.

Wonder no more:

I'm thinking the person writing this might be getting their wires crossed. Firstly, they say that the OUTER layer is armoured and is titanium, which, if the black rubber part goes over the "tech cowl", cannot possibly be true. It would be the INNER layer that is armoured.

Also, the entire shape of the tech cowl is wrong. That nose is nothing like the black cowl's nose. The brows don't match. If one was meant to go under the other, I'm sure they would have done a better job of making it LOOK like it does. The geometry of the outer cowl would be cutting into the geometry of the inner one. I get that it's a cheat anyway, and that the tech cowl would never really be under the rubber one, but it still doesn't look like it should.

Personally, with any of these superhero movies, one should always go into them with a suspension of disbelief. After all they are not real right? Avoid nitpicking every little minor detail and just accept some things, perhaps maybe the movies will be more enjoyable?

That my approach at least.

The TDK suit gets a lot of flack, but the first time seeing Batman use his glow-up lenses near the end of the movie where he's fighting both the SWAT team and the Joke'd-up fake doctors got me SUPER giddy. That scene was awesome. So awesome. I couldn't believe it.

Anyways. More of that please.

That scene is my favorite action scene of the trilogy without a doubt. People bag on Baleman but it takes one skilled mutha****er to do what he did in that moment.
