I'm curious how much of the fight footage was CGI. My guess? A lot.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the action was shot largely with a capeless suit, then the CGI cape added. stuff like that.

It's obviously quite a bit of CGI. Definitely a video-game feel, I'm sure they were trying to emulate the vibe of the Arkham games.

I don't see where there could be quite a bit of CGI, it was filmed on location, in suit.

Only thing I'd imagine is cape in some shots and some of those effects.

I'm not saying Batman is fully CGI generated just some of his movements in action. When he smashes through the window at first I'm pretty sure that's a CGI Batman.

Ah, that... still I don't think that he's CGI'd in that scene, but it doesn't really matter... as long as I don't see an obvious CGI, I don't care whether it's computer generated or not.

The CGI itself is well done it's just the movements that give it away. Ben Afleck in that big ass suit would not really be able to fly around like that.

Either way I've already seen some people use the fight scene as another excuse to bash the Nolan films.

Two different directors, two different styles. One can be more Jason Bourne the other the Matrix doesn't make one necessarily superior to the other.

I think it would be nice to see the filming of that scene because in both set pictures he's wearing the full suit with a cape.

Just noticed that someone is holding his cape in that photo.

I don't see anything in the fight scene that suggests CGI. Even the cape, which we know will be CGI in some scenes, looks real.

My point is...what's the point? Whether it's cgi or not, it was an excellent scene. And it's not unique in any way for action scenes to have cgi, so...again, what are we talking about here?

Ya'll know me as the CG hater, I didn't notice any CG in that fight.

Maybe it was maybe it wasnt. Who cares it looks fantastic!

Looks like he kinda has one in the scene where he jumps off the jet. The cape has several purposes. It furthers the feel od his bat look when extended and flowing. Gliding purposes so he doesnt die jumping off buildings. Bullet and fire proof as well.

I've watched that clip probably over 20 times at this point, and I honestly didn't notice any CGI in the fight itself outside of maybe the cape. The Batman jumping through the window is clearly CGI.

Yup, the window jump and one or two quick shots of the cape seemed CGI. Also maybe shooting up through the floor.

Otherwise, looks like great fight choreography and filming.

The cowl would look alot better if they just sanded the mouth opening so that you can't see the thickness of the material, like so:

Thank you so much for pointing this out. This has been bothering me more than it should.

I imagine they needed to make the jawline thicker so that it retains its shape when he turns his head.

I think within the Batman fight itself there's some great stunt work and wire work more than anything. Really well executed by the way too.

Batfleck is already on his way to becoming one of the greats. I wonder…could we be looking at the greatest of all time? I'm not one to jump to conclusions or be hyperbolic, but seriously, it's looking really good for him.

I am truly hopeful that the answer to that question is a yes. I am still really put off by how modulated his voice sounds, but if the rest is there he could just take the #1 spot for me, which will be hard since Keaton has had it for over 25 years.

Again we need to remember what's good for video and the actor. The sanded edge would have been a idea because that would have cut into the actors face. What's good for cosplay is good for a still image. In these films the actors move around, they can't look good for one particular frame.

It's great when they do but that can't always be the case.

Now as the perfect Batman cowl. Never gonna happen. Batman is drawn in way too many ways for their to be any definitive.

Theres no way the majority of that fight is cg. Its probably like 80% stuntfleck. Only parts that look cg to me is the body slam into the ground and crashing into that window. But regardless it looks phenomenal.
