The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 2

Bloody hell, the review embargo for Civil War ends at April 13th, three weeks before the movie is out.

Talk about confidence.

That's good. They obviously have a lot of faith in the movie.

I have enough confidence that I'll like it more than the first Cap film, and that it will be more popular than that one.
CBM record of the past shows good reviews for the first sequel, lower reviews for the second one. Starting with Batman Returns, first sequels got better reviews than the first movie.

Did they only ever call him 'The Bat' in Batman v Superman??

It's funny, for all the crap Nolan's films got for realism, he never had a problem with calling Batman Batman, Joker Joker, Ras Ras, and Bane, well, Bane.

Even Marvel is sometimes allergic to calling superheroes and villains by their names.

I don't think I ever heard them say Hulk in The Avengers, other than that moment between Tony and Loki in their first ensemble film.

Now that you mention it, I don't remember him being called Batman.
I might find one if I saw the movie again, assuming I'd dare do it this year.

"Nobody cares about Clark Kent taking on the Batman" is the only one that immediately comes to mind.

Iron Man is usually referred to as Stark and Cap as Captain Rogers. Black Widow and Hawkeye are called agent Romanov and Barton more than the former.

It's more comfortable to call people by their real names once you're used to it, I can relate to that.

As for villains, I think the names of Abomination (not called by it) and Mandarin (only name the comic character is known by) are the only villain code names mentioned in MCU in general.
Kingpin is a powerful name, no shame in mentioning it, but I think that one was mentioned even less than the word Hulk (said 3 times in his movie) in the entire MCU run.

Snyderchasers have reached a new height.

They're inventing words because conventional words cannot describe the film.

I'm not sure what Batman v Superman has to do with the plan to kill Hitler from Inglourious Basterds but guess it's just too big for my small mind to comprehend. :o

It's a little different though. A fan screening days before it comes out vs a critic screening a month before it comes out

I'm confident it won't sink as deep as those two movies currently in comparison in the Misc. Comic Films did.
At least... I think that is a good enough sign to feel confident about this film.

Those are critic screenings. Not fanboy screenings like it was for BvS.

Can't wait to see Spidey and Panther in action.

"Third act plays like an emotional horror film". Let's hope that's just not hyperbole.

Hopefully Civil War will be up there with Iron Man, The Avengers and The Winter Soldier. The comic it is based is a good one, but not a great one IMO. If this movie is of the quality of Marvel's best, this could be a case where the movie is better than the source material.

I disagree. The comic book is a disaster. And the less they take from it the better.

Were Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch ever called... Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch? I refuse to watch that movie more than once, but I am genuinely curious.

Is that a reference to the gambling game? I genuinely don't understand. Also, if they think their train wreck at an attempt to kickstart a shared universe for WB's bottom line is more "cinema" than Christopher Nolan, well...

It is really hard to accept you love a very flawed movie. But stress not, for these folks it will come in time.
