The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 5

I said this in the Telltale thread before, but I would have loved to see the kind of split personality, Jekyll vs. Hyde dynamic of this Harvey Dent in TDK, as he flips back and forth between personalities. Not only does it make his scenes more tense and a dramatic, but it's even more sad and tragic to watch.

They could have easily gone down that road. The scene where he is interrogating Thomas Shiff was as close as we got to something like "Big bad Harv."

Been awhile since I have posted, being busy with work. I haven't seen a new film since "Don't breathe" back in August. I'm supposed to see Dr. Strange with a buddy of mine next week.

Am I the only one looking forward to Jake's new film "Nocturnal Animals"?

I need to see Nocturnal Animals ASAP.

I highly recommend Arrival and Hell or High Water (which i saw recently, didn't get a chance in the summer).

I was thinking about Arrival too. Maybe I'm getting burnt out on Comicbook movies, but I'm not really that excited about Dr. Strange.

There's some generic elements to Dr. Strange because it's an origin story, but i was pleasantly surprised by how different it was. It's not as well made as Civil War but it's the most original of the MCU. Some brilliant visuals, good acting, well placed humor. It's something to see in a theater even if you're a bit burnt out on comic book movies.

Sweet. I will still check it out then.

Over saturation of something can have that effect. Too much of a good thing.

DC failing to provide a good alternative is probably not helping matters for those people.

With all the great non-CBMs out there, I don't feel burnt out yet.
But I do want MCU to end after phase 4, if they make it.

Im not burnt yet but i can see it happening. I believe i said this a few years ago or less that by the beginning of the next decade i'll probably be completely burnt out and so will the majority of fans.

After a fourth Avengers, a first or second Justice League, a new Batman movie, an all female comic book film, a few new Spidey's, the retirement of Hugh Jackman's Logan, every idea from Wonder Woman to Dr Strange to Black Panther to Aquaman coming out (and no longer being a fresh concept in a few years time)...what is there left to do?

By 2020, 2021 i STILL think most people will be done with it. What's left after that? Another director comes on board to do a 5th Avengers? Will any of the veterans be there? Do people want to see Wolverine or Iron Man rebooted? Do people care about Man of Steel 2 or a full Wonder Woman trilogy?

There's only so much you can do at once.

A few duds in the last three years

Two of them I left mostly as background noise while they're on.

The only CBM's I've seen this year were the DC ones and well... we all know how those went.

Have only seen four Marvel movies in total - Iron Man, The Avengers, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

So I just found out that the 1986 Highlander's original title was "The Dark Knight".

Tolkien's original title for his Lord of the Rings story was "Frodo Begins".

Just wanted to share a smile with all my pals here in the TDKR lounge

Nobody hated Snyder for his b&w photos. But what he does in his movies - different story entirely. I don't like his colors. Makes the image flat and lifeless.

His colors remind me of the Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life, which is a film all about celebrating life. So, no, I love the colors and love the life found within the colors.

There's massive difference between Tree of Life and Snyder's last two movies.

I spent nearly half a day comparing screencaps, and I didn't notice that much of a difference. The comparison works better with MoS, to be sure, but it definitely works.

Oversaturation is fine I believe, but the films have to be good at least and I’m not expecting anything quality out of the DCEU. Maybe Wonder Woman might surprise me, but I’m skeptical of it.

He spent half a day not realizing that his TV is broken. Because on no planet is the Tree of Life is as desaturated as Snyder's movies.

^ Just click on the little arrows next to their screen names and it'll take you right there.
