OK so where do i start?
This was soooo rushed. Especially in the second half. Zero breathing room. At least the first half felt like the pacing wasn't THAT quick, even when they were jumping from location to location.
Holy ****, i think i'm just about done with Henry Cavill in this role. He really doesn't have anything good to do or say but jesus christ this boy can't act in this role. I've been hearing good things about him in this movie and Fisher as Cyborg, but both were as wooden as Ben Affleck.
Amy Adams and Diane Lane have nothing to do. Their dialogue was ATROCIOUS to the point where it made them look like soap opera actors. You guys know how i feel about Amy in these movies, that she always looks like she's self-aware or something? Well, the first scene she's in, it really looks like she's embarrassed to be there
I liked Momoa in the role of Aquaman and Amber Heard was fine in her little cameo. Those underwater scenes weren't so bad. Ezra Miller is a good pick as Flash and he didn't annoy me like i thought. I did laugh at some of his lines/antics. Not everything landed. It's sad that NONE of these characters had any character development. Speaking of character, everytime they were about to go somewhere as a team, it really felt like a few chunks were taken out so they can get to that fight/location as fast as they could. More character interactions were definitely left on the cutting room floor.
Ben Affleck is the worst Batman next to George Clooney. No b.s. He had only a couple of decent Wayne scenes, like
But jesus christ, he is downright awful in the cowl. Bad one liners aside, his delivery, the way he walks, that's just Ben Affleck in a Batsuit. There is a shot at the very end where you see
Batman is an idiot in this movie. I counted TWICE where Batman's identity is let out to the public. First time in the beginning of this movie, in a scene that i actually liked that kinda reminded me of BTAS. The
He is made to look like an A-hole numerous times, and Cyborg flat out calls him that at one point. As a fan, i'm going "Yup." He's not very likeable. He's the least likeable character in the League, which makes it worse for Ben when he's in scenes with Gal Gadot.
Gal is born for this role. Diana was fun and showed true leadership. She made sections of this movie watchable, along with Flash. Sure Momoa is charismatic but he has nothing to do. Boy, those one-liners are bad too..
Speaking of nothing to do. J.K Simmons is J.J.Jameson without the over the top laughter. If they bring him back, cool. If they recast, cool. Jeremy Irons is bored out of his mind. He's not a character. He's a device in these movies for whenever Batman needs somebody to control a vehicle or to throw out one quick remark while staring at bruce as he mopes around the interior of some fancy room.
Steppenwolf is an abomination. Nothing new, looks like s**t, the main concept of why he's there is simple but at the same time makes no sense. We saw this in Man of Steel, Avengers, etc. The parademons are a waste of money. And the russian family that they antagonize was one of the more random things about this frankenstein of a flick.
The stuff about resurrecting Supes flew over my head, either i was bored or it didn't add up to me. The score did nothing to enhance Superman's return. Did i look away for a second? Because i don't remember
In conclusion...it's not a better film than BvS or worse. It has the odd fun or funny moment. The team has potential. If they get can rid of Affleck who helps turn Batman into a boring joke, they may have a better group. CGI is bad, although the Flash stuff was fine. The team is not so electrifying that it screams for a sequel with a different plot. Bad writing. Bad directing. Bad editing. Lack of character development. No story, just an excuse to give people some fun while they try not to choke on popcorn. It's predictable, and it reeks of "we don't know what to do with these heroes, just try your best to mimmick the Avengers?" The final montage was good, and what a shame that it was tacked onto the end of a mess.

Superman,
and i mean "Superman" in the suit, is only present for THE LAST 10 MINUTES of this movie. His face was soooo distracting, right from the get-go, OMG OMG is what i kept whispering to myself. SuperFace is the worst, and it's going to become the biggest joke of the DCEU, even more than MARTHA once the blu-ray comes out.

her scene with Martha.

the argument with Diana, which i liked as a whole.
Batman standing next to Aquaman, and Bats is smiling. The combination of that new suit and that smile just made me think of Clooney's goofy expressions. I can't believe we've gone this route after what Bale/Nolan did. However, it made me sad when Clark/Bruce are talking at the end, for the first time. Bruce pats Clark on the back, they're smiling. I felt like wow, that's the last time we see Ben in this role (or was there one more with Diana/Alfred at Wayne Manor?
Batman is an idiot in this movie. I counted TWICE where Batman's identity is let out to the public. First time in the beginning of this movie, in a scene that i actually liked that kinda reminded me of BTAS. The
pre-opening credits on the rooftop with the robber. First of all, Bats is using this guy as bait for the parademon correct? Not only does he leave him there after (which is not a Batman thing to do). But right in front of a civilian he calls Alfred and says "Alfred..". Are you serious? The other guy doesn't react either. The next time was when Bruce meets Arthur. Bruce, standing on a hill with like 30 people surrounding him and not only does Aquaman call him BATMAN right in front of them, but then the name Bruce Wayne pops up in conversation. I know these people probably don't care who he is, but jesus christ that's just lazy writing and direction.

how Clark ended up waking up shirtless. That's the one scene that made me think this team (Cyborg, Wondy, Flash, Aquaman, minus batman who was hiding from Mustache Man) can build on a team chemistry.
But the scene itself is so ******ed and laughable. Just an excuse for A)
Flash to do a PET CEMETARY callback B) To give us another Superman vs Batman showdown where Supes can do a callback to DO YOU BLEED?
and C) so Lois has something to do.

. But it's frustrating. Because to me it's not only brand damage in terms of quality, it's also in terms of oversaturation. It's quite a lot to overcome.
