Crowd Reports!!!

Just saw it this afternoon, EVERYONE in the theater clapped and some did standing ovations. Did NOT expect that kind of response lol

My WalMart showing was mute after the movie, but todays showing the majority of the crowd erupted into applause the second the movie ended! Never seen anything like it, very special moment I will never forget! :)

As I posted in the rank and rate thread:

I think on the second viewing the main factor in my enjoyment was the fact that the audience were better participants than the previous time, they laughed at all the right moments and they gasped when Superman broke Zod's neck. Infact after that moment there were whispers; did he really do that? Hell yeah, and even some laughing (teenagers) etc. one if the most notable reactions with the audience was the scene where Zod's message played, a little girl sat a few rows across seemed a little scared of that scene but she cheered when Superman punched the hell out of Zod for threatening his mother.

Hoping to have some good crowd reactions when I finally get to see this film next week.

In theatre now, walked in and it looked 75% full, now it's about 97% full and peeps are still coming in.

Saw it in Italy on thursday.
Theatre 70% full. Silence during the movie and a shy applause at the end (some stayed in the theatre for the post-credit scene..which does not exist :D ). My friends liked it, but two of them said that it was a good sci-fi movie, but not a Superman movie (but they know the character only from the old movies with Reeve).

I enjoyed the movie a lot, but I need a second viewing. I loved expecially the part of Krypton and the second part of the movie (the alien invasion).
The flashbacks are beautiful, but I did not enjoy them as I thought. Maybe some lack of emotions.
The camera view sometimes did not help me to enjoy the movie.

The final sequence is perfect. I loved it.

Around the italian web I read a vast majority of good opionons, but even a lot of disappointed people.

I was in a huge theater that I imagine was about 75% full. Most people seemed to like it.The guy behind me kept bumping the back of my seat for the first 10 minutes.

There was an awkward moment when Pa first shows Clark the ship and a bunch of people burst out in loud laughter.Everyone else was in awkward silence, since I don't think that was meant to be funny.

When Pa was about to get whisked off to OZ,a bunch of people (probably the same group) shouted "SAVE HIM!GO ON!SAVE HIM!!!":hehe:

Im curious to know where you live/went to see the movie LMAO because that's really weird. I was in the theater for my second viewing (I live in Montreal, Canada) and at that exact part you mentioned..my goddamn friend says something hilarious to me and for that entire scene we're dying of laughter while im sure everyone around us think we're insincere/mental. Im in tears laughing super hard and this emotional & important scene is playing. Poor people.

Probably a weird ass coincidence. That's funny!

the second time I saw it (last Wednesday) the theater was bloody packed, there were people sitting in the aisles and the usher had to come and take them away. Lots of laughter during a few scenes (example: Clark working at the bar and "Lobo" tried to fight him, Carrie Ferris with her hot line..etc.).

I was not expecting the audience to clap again like they did during the midnight premier, but they did, maybe even louder, some people were waiting for an after credits scenes but this time I knew better lol

I'm from New England (the northeast of the US).

Gonna see it with my sister, brother in law, and nephew. First time for them and 5th for me lol. I'm not gonna tell em I saw it already or they won't see it lol. They just like seeing movies with me that we all haven't seen. But I'll see how the crowd is. Each time I went last weekend it was packed so well see...:) oh I'm in NY btw

Like every showing I've attended so far, packed crowd and cheers and laughs at all the right moments. Big applause during the Smallville fight and don't even get me started on the last minute of the film. :)

it's already the 12th day since the movie was released here in our country and theaters are still mostly full.

Saw it around 2:50 in the afternoon in a smaller 2d theater but it was mostly full....everyone laughed at the right times and there was a small clap when the credits rolled

saw it in IMAX 3D 3pm. 70% full. not much reaction from the audience. but it was a wonderful experience watching it in IMAX 3D.

There was a young (20s) African lady who came in alone sitting in front of me in the theatre, and when Superman saved his mom from the Kryptonians she was clapping and cheering, shouting "yeah hit him! save your mom!" in a loud African accent. She made my MOS experience, won't forget her lol.

There was also some 60 year old couple walking out with me afterward and the guy was going "huge disappointment, huge let down, bring back the 70s" to his wife. No end applause though. The only movies I saw here that had that were the last LOTR and Matrix ten years ago.

hate people shouting and talking in cinema.
well, the older folks definitely required a higher degree of capacity to accept this modern interpretation.
