As long as they have Nightwing, one Batgirl that chose to retire the costume instead of being crippled, not Bat-on-Bat action, and no use of another Robin after the dead one, I'll be fine with Bat Family: The Movie.

The next installment in Chip's Nightly Trilogy Re-Watch: The Dark Knight

As the kids say these days: "It's going to be lit, fam"

It's been a while since I did a complete Batman marathon...

Since Bane's plan in TDKR had anti-establishment rhetoric all over it, how long till a 'What role did TDKR play in Trump getting elected?' thread akin to the Obama/TDK one gets up and running? :o

Lol well that wouldn't make sense since TDKR was 4 years before Trump, and came out the year Obama was re-elected. Would make more sense to ask what role it played in getting Obama re-elected.

BvS got one for Trump; http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=520847

Sadly, I think TDKR can even more clearly be read now as a cautionary story about what happens when exist anti-establishment angst gets coopted by a pseudo populist who doesn't actually care about the people he claims to represent, and the dark places that can lead.

I'm sick of the whole "Leto was in character" stories from SS and how people are trying to say it totally added to the performance and what not.

:barf:

If Nolan had chosen that (superior) approach, sure. As it stands, the movie is about a lunatic taking a city hostage against the will of its populace. It sucks that the fan theory that closely resembles what you're talking about didn't turn out to be the final movie.

It actually fits pretty well as is in my opinion, albeit in a super heightened blockbuster movie-esque type of way. Trump doesn't need to be literally planning to destroy the country (he's already finding ways to do it though) in order for the parallel to fit.

The majority of America did not vote for Trump. The vast majority of Gotham did not join in Bane's revolution. They were afraid and stayed locked in their homes. Bane unleashed the Blackgate prisoners to join "the people", similar to how the alt-right/white nationalists seeped into the Trump movement which was full of a lot of honest working class people who understandably felt left behind by the establishment. In both cases, a populist movement was turned in dark directions, that's the main parallel I see.

Truth be told, feeling held hostage by a lunatic feels exactly what it's like to be part of the American majority who didn't support Trump right now.

Mad Max Fury road now also finds a deeper meaning. Trump is now Immortan Joe. Post-apocalyptic wasteland is post-Trump America. The wives stand for women, minorities and LGBT people. Trump's sons are as dumb as Rictus.

Nux is Glenn Beck.

If you guys want to read a crazy and also tragic story that is only tangentially related to Donald Trump:

Some of may have already read about this. The "son" of Trump's celebrity jeweler is one of two people involved with the brutal murder of a kid that I knew from college. He was in a fraternity that my frat hung out with. It's a really twisted story that has shaken all of my NJ/NY friends who knew the victim and were friends with him.

Killers, killers. The internet is full of stories of mad killers, the amount makes me wish most of them were fiction not fact.

Yeah, it's crazy to hear people say things like "It's like something out of a movie or Law & Order", losing sight of the fact that they are draw from sick things like this that happen in real life.

Good lord lol.

So what do you peeps think of Catwoman (possibly) not being in The Batman?

I don't care one way or the other.

The two batman villains I want to see most are Riddler and Clayface.

ZackSnyder should b considered genius for his Superman update

Before 2013 people revered Superman but dismissed him. Even Snyder was hesitant to attempt #MonOfSteel bcoz of no-win situation of Superman

B4 Snyder's stellar #ManOfSteel ppl thought Superman was boring, too powerful, too flawless, uninteresting. Snyder made Superman "real"

It's these same detractors who now say the character should be bright & cheery. The "not muh Superman" crowd. Ungrateful & confused

Singer's Superman was rejected because he was a rip-off of Reeve. Called: uninteresting &irrelevant
The same crowd now hate Snyder's update?

I can unabashedly say that CW Superman exists only bcoz of the antagonism to the DCEU #comeatme
He would b rejected otherwise #dealwithit
:whatever:

This was brought to attention

They should put more effort into improving their own comics than trolling their competition which are doing much better than them.

Marvel Comics (the books, not the films) are $4.99 rolls of toilet paper with pretty art on it. Bendis and his people really aren't in no position to troll.
I don't read modern comics, so I ask those who do which side has overall better quality, on average this year?
Top 50 selling comics of last months are like this:
21 issues from Marvel (a good chunk of it is Star Wars)
26 issues from DC
3 from other publishers

Top selling comic is something special:
Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York
